On Product Hunt, a hunter is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters usually write the first comment explaining why the product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by makers, and roughly 60% of #1 Product-of-the-Day winners are self-hunted too — but a well-followed hunter still acts as a strong signal of quality to the rest of the community, which is why “top hunters” lists matter to anyone planning a launch.
