Here's the first comment for the TicketVerse Product Hunt launch: What inspired TicketVerse? Watching a sold-out concert in Harare get overrun by counterfeit tickets at the gate. Not a hypothetical. Not a statistic. A real event, real organisers losing real revenue, and real fans turned away at the door holding tickets they paid full price for — that turned out to be worthless printouts. That's the African live events reality. And it's not just Harare. It's Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, Kampala. Wherever events happen and cash-based ticket touts operate, fraud follows. Eventbrite exists. We know. But Eventbrite charges 6.5%+ per ticket, doesn't support EcoCash or local payment gateways, and sends your attendee data to servers in San Francisco. For an event promoter in Lusaka running on tight margins, that's three problems in one platform. We built TicketVerse to solve all three.
