Here's the first comment for the TicketVerse Product Hunt launch: What inspired TicketVerse? Watching a sold-out concert in Harare get overrun by counterfeit tickets at the gate. Not a hypothetical. Not a statistic. A real event, real organisers losing real revenue, and real fans turned away at the door holding tickets they paid full price for — that turned out to be worthless printouts. That's the African live events reality. And it's not just Harare. It's Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, Kampala. Wherever events happen and cash-based ticket touts operate, fraud follows. Eventbrite exists. We know. But Eventbrite charges 6.5%+ per ticket, doesn't support EcoCash or local payment gateways, and sends your attendee data to servers in San Francisco.
