Hi Product Hunt 👋
I think I like making things that don't really need to exist. This is one of them.
What inspired it I love the tiny ritual at the end of a restaurant meal: the cookie arrives, you crack it and for a second you actually wonder what it'll say. I wanted to bottle that moment and put it on the internet.
The "problem" Honestly, there isn't a big one. Most of the internet asks you to do something: sign up, scroll, optimise. I wanted a place that just asks you to sit down for a minute and gives you something small and nice back.
How it evolved It started as a cookie in the middle of a page. Then it turned into a whole table: a gingham cloth, chopsticks, a napkin and a jar that fills up with every fortune you open. Along the way I added: 🥠 Five moods, each with its own fortunes (from "soft today" to "chaos, please") 🥠 A way to keep your favourite fortunes as a little card 🥠 A few surprises I won't spoil
Everything is hand-drawn and animated in the browser, and the crack sounds are generated live. There's no account and no app, and it works on your phone.
