The Fortune Cookie Table
A tiny table on the internet, serving one fortune at a time
The Fortune Cookie Table turns a simple fortune-cookie interaction into a tiny illustrated world. Pick a mood, crack a cookie, and receive a fortune tailored to how you’re feeling. Collect your favourites in a little jar and download the ones worth keeping. It’s part interactive web experiment, part digital fortune-cookie table — designed to be playful, tactile, and a little unexpected.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I think I like making things that don't really need to exist. This is one of them.
What inspired it I love the tiny ritual at the end of a restaurant meal: the cookie arrives, you crack it and for a second you actually wonder what it'll say. I wanted to bottle that moment and put it on the internet.
The "problem" Honestly, there isn't a big one. Most of the internet asks you to do something: sign up, scroll, optimise. I wanted a place that just asks you to sit down for a minute and gives you something small and nice back.
How it evolved It started as a cookie in the middle of a page. Then it turned into a whole table: a gingham cloth, chopsticks, a napkin and a jar that fills up with every fortune you open. Along the way I added: 🥠 Five moods, each with its own fortunes (from "soft today" to "chaos, please") 🥠 A way to keep your favourite fortunes as a little card 🥠 A few surprises I won't spoil
Everything is hand-drawn and animated in the browser, and the crack sounds are generated live. There's no account and no app, and it works on your phone.
I'd love to know which mood you picked and what your cookie said. ♡
