Skep is a thin, open-source session bus that lets coding agents on different machines join one live session. One machine becomes the master; peers join with a short code + host and keep running your own local Claude Code, Codex, or Pi. No accounts, no cloud relay — and your API keys never leave your devices. Apache-2.0. Install with npm i -g @skepagent/skep.

Top comment

Hey everyone — I'm the maker of Skep. I built it because I run coding agents on multiple machines (Claude Code on my laptop, another on a VPS) and wanted them to share one live session without uploading my API keys to someone's cloud. One machine masters, others join with a code + host, keys stay on each device. It's Apache-2.0 and installable via npm. Happy to answer any protocol or threat-model questions!

Who hunted Skep?

Skep was hunted by kris gu. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
