I'm Naveen, the maker of HostAnywhere. Really happy to finally launch here today.
The story is simple. I wanted to give a contractor SSH access to my home NAS without opening ports on my router. I wanted to expose a self-hosted Jellyfin instance publicly without a static IP. I wanted my family's phones to back up photos to my own server, not Google or Apple. And when I started thinking about how teams at small companies handle the same access problems, I realized it scales — the building blocks are identical.
Each of these has a great single-purpose tool. Tailscale for mesh. Cloudflare Tunnel for public exposure. PFSense for firewall rules. Various phone backup apps. But they don't talk to each other, they have different identity models, and stitching them together for one logical thing — "secure access to my own stuff" — felt absurd.
