ROM Player is a browser-based retro gaming PWA — drop in a ROM, hit play, no installs required. Runs client-side via EmulatorJS, supporting 20+ systems: NES, SNES, N64, GB/GBC/GBA, PS1, PSP, NDS, Sega Genesis/Saturn/CD, and more. ROMs/BIOS never leave your device. Works offline, with save states, tuned rewind, gamepad support, and peer-to-peer ROM Exchange (no server). Free covers the core; Premium ($3 AUD/mo) adds cloud save sync, library sync, and Dropbox storage.
I built ROM Player because I wanted a retro gaming setup that just... worked. No downloading an emulator, no hunting for the right BIOS folder structure, no extension permissions — open a tab, drop in a ROM, play.
Under the hood it's built on EmulatorJS (libretro cores), wrapped in my own layer that handles the boot sequence, save states, and error handling so you get an actual error message instead of a silent black screen when something's misconfigured.
