Hi All! 👋
Creator of Purge Modules here (and also my first launch). Happy to share it with fellow developers
One fine day I was free-ing up space on my system and it occurred to me: I've worked on multiple projects during my software career (+ boad-load of side projects) which meant there were "venv" and "node_modules" folders scattered throughout my system
I went "What if" there was an application to list those folders out alongside the project folder, path and size of them all from the Command-Line. Then being able to selectively delete them.
The project came to be known as purge modules (Personally found atleast 7 GB of projects I wasn't actively working on). Supports folder and path flags as well. Currently supported for MacOS
Looking to connect with fellow developers and get feedback
Thanks!
honestly this looks super handy for cleaning up all those random node_modules and venv folders eating up disk space. one thing that would be really useful is adding a dry-run mode so you can preview exactly which folders and how much space will be freed before actually deleting anything. basically a safety net for those moments when you're not 100% sure if a directory is safe to remove.
