I built PowerTools.blog because I was frustrated with salary calculator sites that are slow, cluttered with ads, and require you to sign up just to use a basic tool.
The inspiration came from a simple moment — I was comparing two job offers and couldn't quickly figure out which paid more per hour when accounting for different weekly hours and vacation time. Every site I tried was either broken on mobile or buried the answer under five pop-up ads.
So I built a clean, fast, no-signup salary-to-hourly calculator that works instantly on any device. You enter your salary, your actual hours, and your vacation weeks — and it gives you your real hourly rate, not just the standard 2,080-hour estimate.
Since launching, I've added a reverse mode (hourly → salary), 20+ specific salary-conversion cards for common amounts, and three supporting guides on freelancer rates, salary vs. hourly pay, and annual working hours.
