Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Matt, the maker of Mixos. I built this because I kept running into the same wall: Substance Painter is incredible but $50/month is steep if you're a freelancer, hobbyist, or student, and it won't run on a Chromebook or a work machine where you can't install software. Mixos runs entirely in your browser. WebGPU does the heavy lifting so the viewport is genuinely real-time, not a preview. The AI side generates full PBR map sets (not just a diffuse texture) from a text prompt, which cuts a lot of the tedious back-and-forth. Happy to answer any questions about the tech stack, WebGPU quirks, or why I made certain design decisions. Would love your feedback!

Who hunted Mixos?

Mixos was hunted by Matthew Guild. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
