Hunted byJörg Balters (Techpirat)Jörg Balters (Techpirat)

I created Mail Archive because I needed a simple way to archive my own emails without relying on expensive cloud services or complicated enterprise software. Mail Archive lets you connect Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365 and IMAP accounts, store emails locally on your computer and search everything with fast full-text search. No cloud dependency, no mandatory subscription, and complete control over your data. Available for Mac and Windows.

👋 Hi Product Hunt! I’m Jörg, an indie developer from Germany and the creator of Mail Archive. The idea came from a problem I faced myself. I wanted a simple way to archive important emails locally without relying on expensive cloud services, subscriptions, or enterprise software that felt far too complicated for small businesses and individuals. Most solutions I found were either cloud-based, subscription-only, or designed for large organizations. So I decided to build my own. Mail Archive connects to Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365 and IMAP accounts, downloads emails to your own computer, and makes everything searchable through fast full-text search. Key principles behind the project: • Your emails stay under your control • Local-first storage • No mandatory subscription • Simple setup • Available for Mac and Windows What started as a personal tool is now being used by customers in several countries. I’d love to hear your feedback, feature ideas, and answer any questions. Thanks for checking out Mail Archive! 🚀

Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
