Hi PH. I built LocalDocs because I kept wanting to ask questions about documents I would never hand to a stranger: medical records, contracts, pay slips. Every tool wanted an upload. "We do not train on your data" still means the document left your device. LocalDocs runs a Gemma model on your phone's GPU. There is no server to log anything. Honest limits: a phone-sized model is not GPT-5. It is excellent at "what does my document say", weaker at open-ended reasoning. It needs a few GB for the model. And it is paid, because there is no data to sell. Happy to answer anything about the on-device stack.

Who hunted LocalDocs?

LocalDocs was hunted by SamAct. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
