LocalDocs
Chat with your files. Offline. Nothing leaves your phone.
An AI that reads your PDFs, photos and notes and answers questions about them, running entirely on your phone. No server, no account, no upload. Works in airplane mode, in 34 languages. Paid app, no subscription, no data business.
Hi PH. I built LocalDocs because I kept wanting to ask questions about documents I would never hand to a stranger: medical records, contracts, pay slips.
Every tool wanted an upload. "We do not train on your data" still means the document left your device.
LocalDocs runs a Gemma model on your phone's GPU. There is no server to log anything.
Honest limits: a phone-sized model is not GPT-5. It is excellent at "what does my document say", weaker at open-ended reasoning. It needs a few GB for the model. And it is paid, because there is no data to sell.
Happy to answer anything about the on-device stack.

Who hunted LocalDocs?
LocalDocs was hunted by SamAct. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
