Hey PH! 👋 I'm the maker of KRecipes. The idea came from a frustrating personal experience — I'd find an amazing Korean cooking video on YouTube, but the recipe would be buried in Korean-language comments or a messy video description, with no ingredient amounts and no way to jump to a specific step. So I built KRecipes: paste any Korean cooking YouTube URL, and the app uses AI to extract a fully structured recipe in seconds — ingredients with substitutes for hard-to-find items (like gochujang or doenjang), scaled servings, and timestamps so you can jump directly to any cooking step. A few things I'm especially proud of: Honest substitutes — it doesn't just say "skip it," it tells you what actually works Serving scaler — drag to double or halve, all quantities update live Jump-to-step — click a step, the video seeks to that exact moment No fabrication — if the video isn't a recipe (mukbang, food vlog, etc.), the app says so instead of making something up The app is free to use. You can save recipes to your account and share them directly. Would love your feedback — especially from anyone who's tried (and struggled) to cook Korean food from YouTube!

honestly this is the kind of tool i wish existed a year ago, jumped to a random maangchi vid and it pulled out the ingredients and timestamps like 2 seconds flat, super clean.

Pasted a random mukbang video and it pulled out the actual recipe with working timestamp links to each step, which honestly felt like magic. The local substitutes section saved me from buying gochujang I wouldn't use again.

Tried it with a random tteokbokki video and the jump-to-timestamp feature actually saved me from rewatching the whole thing three times. The local substitutes suggestion for gochugaru was a nice touch too, didn’t realize I could swap in something from my usual grocery store.

honestly this looks super useful, the jump-to-timestamp thing is genuinely smart. one thing i'd love is a pantry mode where you check off what you already have and it tells you exactly what's missing before you even start. would save a second trip to the store most weekends

Being able to save recipes offline or export them to a notes app would be really useful when I'm at the grocery store without signal.

Would love to see a built-in grocery list mode that groups ingredients by aisle and lets me check items off as I shop. Would make the jump from watching the video to actually cooking so much smoother.
