Hi everyone! I'm the creator of HttpForge, and I'm excited to finally share it with the community.
The idea for HttpForge came from my daily experience working with APIs. While tools like Postman, Bruno, Insomnia, and Hoppscotch are excellent, I wanted something that was completely local, open source, and privacy-first.
Many API clients now encourage cloud accounts, syncing, or online workspaces. I wanted to build an alternative where developers have full control over their data. With HttpForge, your collections, environments, and requests stay on your machine unless you choose to share them.
