Hey all,
I built an app called Friday, an AI that helps you process your day and build a self-reflection habit through a short call everyday.
For years, I've known I should be journaling. Everyone talks about the benefits: mental clarity, processing your thoughts, personal growth, etc.
But after a long day, the last thing I want to do is stare at a screen and type out my feelings. Other AI journal apps were better but still the habit never stuck for more than a few days.
So I thought, what's the lowest-friction way to get thoughts out of my head? Talking. Friday asks you a few insightful questions about your day, and you just talk. It then structures your thoughts for you.
If you’ve ever struggled with journaling or want to build more self-reflection into your routine, I’d love for you to try it and let me know what you think.
This is still very much an early product, so your feedback means a ton. Feel free to drop thoughts here!
You could still allow for memory of the messages, so they could be referenced by the AI. Just not catalogued.
Congrats on the launch, Minjae. The idea of turning reflection into an actual conversation instead of another screen task just hits different, simple but powerful. Really well done 👏
Love the concept! I’ve seen a lot of SaaS founders struggle to explain what their tool does in 10 seconds, your landing page is pretty clear.
Have you considered adding a short AI explainer video? It could boost signups fast.
Congrats on launching Friday! The idea of using AI for self-reflection instead of typing seems like a game-changer, especially with how easy it makes journaling.
How’s the response been so far? Any specific marketing strategies you're focusing on to get the word out? Would love to hear how you're planning to promote the app!
Very cool idea -- what AI model are you using for processing the call? How much context will be remembered throughout multiple conversations?
Finally! I’ve wanted an app like this for so long. How do you handle privacy and data?
Congrats on the launch! I think you’ve nailed the right level of simplicity for an MVP. Everyone looks for a dude who helps them through their daily habits and you’ve actually managed to give that dude a voice. Well done !!
First of all, congratulations, genuinely I love the format of your product. I got a lot of personal and professional notes scattered among multiple apps. Friday is a very convenient way to keep track and assess my notes. It would be great to know how your LLM implementation is different to the vanilla versions. As they are usually trained to “sweet talk” users.
Best of luck with your launch!
Imagine how cool it would be if you really launched on Friday! :D But love the idea.
P.S. Try to make the web scrollable because I cannot scroll atm and see the whole page :)
Love this approach to journaling. A quick daily call feels so much lower friction than typing, and the structured notes after are a great touch. Curious how you handle privacy and noisy environments. Excited to try Friday and share feedback. Congrats on the launch!
Great idea! Talking instead of typing for journaling is honestly superb—I always fall off the habit because typing feels like work after a long day. Just curious if Friday adapts its questions over time?
Love the angle. Journaling always felt like work, but talking is natural, easy and interesting too. Cool launch, congrats!
👏 Bravo dude. Have you thought about not structuring too?
Sometimes just voicing things can be cathartic enough for some people.
You could still allow for memory of the messages, so they could be referenced by the AI. Just not catalogued.
It's rare for some to not go back through a physical journal. Maybe the same could be useful here?
You should have launched that on a Friday and not on a Saturday 😅 All joking aside, I like the clear, simple design and it's intuitive to use. Keep up the good work, I'm already impressed! @minjae_so
Do you handle todo list? For example if I tell the app my day and I say “oh I don’t have to forget to do this and that”, will it format it as a todo list ?
I like what Friday 8 is going for: making that end-of-week wrap-up or planning moment feel less “oh no, another to-do list” and more “okay, let’s actually finish strong”.
