Solo indie dev here. While building my own roguelike, I hit the wall every small game dev knows too well: art. A single character needs walk, run, attack, death... dozens of frames each. Outsourcing was too expensive, and drawing them myself was eating the time I needed for actual game design.

The boss monster in my own game — a skeleton dragon with 61-frame flight and attack cycles — was made entirely with this workflow, in about ten minutes.

Uploaded a sketch of my main character and got all 14 animations in under a minute, the run cycle actually looked like the same character. Auto chroma-key saved me a ton of cleanup before dropping it into Cocos.
