Hey Product Hunt,

I'm Noah, solo builder of Fottly.

I kept running into the same problem with image APIs: either you're locked into someone else's cloud (Cloudinary, imgix...) paying per transformation, or you're stuck writing your own Sharp pipeline from scratch every time you need resize/crop/format conversion for a new project.

So I built Fottly, a self-hosted image transformation API, AGPL-3.0, that you run on your own infrastructure. Simple URL params (w_400,h_300,f_webp,q_80) instead of a bloated SDK, plus AI background removal built in, which is usually the one feature that pushes people toward expensive SaaS tools.

If you don't want to host it yourself, Fottly Cloud does it for you, paid, but with a 7-day free trial so you can test it with zero risk before committing.

It's early and I'm building this solo, so genuinely, try it, break it, tell me what's missing. I'll be here all day answering everything.

Who hunted Fottly?

Fottly was hunted by Noah. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
