Formé scans any ingredient list and translates 3000+ Latin INCI names into plain English, including allergen warnings shown before anything else. Unlike Yuka or Think Dirty, Formé grades products based on you: your allergens, your ethics, your skin concerns.
I built Formé after trying to find a soap that didn't have a coconut derived ingredient because of my fiancée's allergies. I spent probably 20 minutes googling individual ingredients on the whole row of products.
The problem isn't that cosmetic labels are deceptive — it's that they use a Latin naming system (INCI) designed for chemists, not consumers. "Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil" is sweet almond oil. "Cocos Nucifera Oil" is coconut. There's no law requiring the common name to appear anywhere on the label.
Formé's allergen detection is permanently free — I didn't want to put the core of the app, and a safety feature, behind a paywall. Premium unlocks unlimited scans, full ingredient breakdowns, and a Routine Builder that flags conflicts across multiple products.
Everything runs on your device, your scans and allergen profile never leave your phone. If Formé encounters an ingredient it doesn't recognize, you can optionally submit it to help us expand the database. No account required, no data harvested.
