Top comment

As a developer, I kept seeing students run code successfully but still struggle to understand what was actually happening behind the scenes. A terminal only shows the final output, it doesn't show variables changing, loops iterating, functions being called, or algorithms evolving step by step. I wanted to build something that made code feel visual and intuitive instead of abstract. That idea eventually became Flame. Over the last two years, I built Flame to help students learn by seeing code execute, help teachers create programming exercises faster, and make it easy for developers to turn code into engaging animated visualizations. My goal is simple: make programming easier to understand and more enjoyable to learn.

Comment highlights

NeonFlow looks like a really cool way to make code feel less abstract, especially for students just starting out. One thing I'd love to see is a "share my graph" button that exports the visualization as a short video or GIF, so students can drop it into a class discussion or a homework submission without needing to record their screen.

A live share feature would be huge, especially for teachers doing code reviews with the whole class. They could pause execution at any point and let students predict the next step in the graph before continuing.

Who hunted Flame?

Flame was hunted by Faisal Ahmad. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
