Hey everyone 👋 I’m part of the team behind eXo Platform.

This release (7.2) is a big step for us because we’ve been working on bringing AI directly into a collaborative digital workplace, instead of treating it as a separate tool.

A lot of organizations we work with are facing the same issues: too many tools, fragmented workflows, and growing concerns around where their data and AI workloads actually run.

With this version, we focused on:

- integrating AI directly into everyday work (not as an add-on)
- giving flexibility with different LLMs (cloud or self-hosted)
- keeping full control over deployment and data (cloud, private, or on-prem)

Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or even critical takes, especially on how you see AI fitting into collaboration tools going forward.

Happy to answer any questions 🙌

Comment highlights

How does the pricing actually scale for a mid-sized team around 50 people, and are the collaboration tools like docs and chat usable as a real Slack replacement or more of a lighter add-on?

Big fan of where eXo is heading with 7.2 👏 The move to package the AI-augmented workplace directly into the release (across cloud, private cloud and on-prem) is a smart play, especially for orgs with sovereignty or security constraints who can't just point at a hosted LLM.

The features I'm most excited about:

  • Contextual AI — configurable RAG sources, specialized assistants (e.g. an HR bot scoped to just HR spaces), and suggested prompts. Giving the assistant a precise, controlled context is exactly the right call for enterprise relevance.

  • The MCP server exposing 100+ eXo tools to external AI assistants — this is the piece that turns eXo into a real building block for agentic workflows, not a walled garden.

  • Unified workplace — integrated email, redesigned calendar, personal notes, and quick actions to reach colleagues without context-switching.

  • Sub-spaces as a structured alternative to Teams channels, each with their own members/permissions/content.

Nice to see the open-source, controlled-AI angle taken seriously rather than bolting on a chatbot. Congrats to the team on the launch 🚀
