Create an effective, search optimized & customizable website for your game in minutes - no code involved. Import from Steam, customize, and publish instantly.
Hello Product Hunt 👋!
I'm releasing a game for Steam (my 3rd) in March. And while a website isn't a huge source of revenue for an indie game that is primarily on Steam & XBOX, it *is* still important.
It is also a *pain* to build one. I hated building the last two, and I knew I didn't want to build another one for the new game (Skipper 2). You have to design a site, write content, structure it, link out to socials, Steam, pick a host, upload, etc - it's a pain, and time consuming.
I figured there was a collection of perfectly good content, the same content more or less I'd need for the game website that was already created - on Steam.
I started writing a script to assemble the site from Steam, and then realized that this would probably be really useful to a lot of indie developers. So I set aside some of my schedule from Skipper 2 to build it, and crtrdg was born.
I have a roadmap of feature additions for the next few months, including extending support for importing from platforms beyond Steam (Play Store, App Store, and Epic), and one-click export so if you want you can make the site with crtrdg and host elsewhere you can.
If you have any questions or feedback please do post or find me on X @mrwhoof.
Thanks for checking crtrdg out! I can't wait to hear all your feedback!
This is such an amazing product! I’ve seen many tools that help users create websites, but your focus on game developers really stands out. It’s great that game creators can concentrate on designing their games and improving user experience, while tools like yours take care of the website-building process seamlessly.
I’m curious though—there are so many AI-powered or no-code website tools in the market right now. Beyond importing data from platforms like Steam (which is a brilliant feature), what are the unique aspects that make your tool specifically tailored for gaming websites? Are there key differences between gaming websites and other types of websites that your platform addresses? Since gamers often have high expectations for visual and sensory experiences, does your tool offer anything to ensure these websites deliver a compelling first impression?
Also, aside from just having a website quickly, are there any standout needs from game developers that you’re solving, like community-building features or showcasing gameplay content in a specific way? As a former gamer and someone planning to create a virtual pet app in the future, I’m really intrigued by what you’re building!
i love the idea - i imagine something like this could work really well for mobile apps as well
I really dig this. I know a couple of folks who don't think about making a landing page and simply just publish on steam or itch.io, so this is a genius way to make the process a lot easier. Congrats on the launch @tophermade! It'd be awesome to add Steam login to verify game ownership, or is this done differently right now?
