I'm releasing a game for Steam (my 3rd) in March. And while a website isn't a huge source of revenue for an indie game that is primarily on Steam & XBOX, it *is* still important.
It is also a *pain* to build one. I hated building the last two, and I knew I didn't want to build another one for the new game (Skipper 2). You have to design a site, write content, structure it, link out to socials, Steam, pick a host, upload, etc - it's a pain, and time consuming.
I figured there was a collection of perfectly good content, the same content more or less I'd need for the game website that was already created - on Steam.
I started writing a script to assemble the site from Steam, and then realized that this would probably be really useful to a lot of indie developers. So I set aside some of my schedule from Skipper 2 to build it, and crtrdg was born.
I have a roadmap of feature additions for the next few months, including extending support for importing from platforms beyond Steam (Play Store, App Store, and Epic), and one-click export so if you want you can make the site with crtrdg and host elsewhere you can.
