cctimer is a lightweight macOS menu bar app that shows your Claude Code 5-hour and weekly rate limit reset timers. It reads Claude Code status line updates locally and keeps the countdown visible even after you close your terminal. I built this to make the absolute most of Claude Code's 5-hour rate limit! :þ

Hey Product Hunt,

I built cctimer because I kept losing track of Claude Code rate limit reset times while working across multiple terminals and apps.

It’s a small macOS menu bar app for Claude Code users.

What it does:

  • Shows the 5-hour reset countdown in the menu bar

  • Shows both 5-hour and weekly usage in the popover

  • Advance notification of limit reset

  • Keeps the timer visible outside the terminal

  • Works locally by integrating with Claude Code’s status line

  • Can be installed via GitHub release or Homebrew

    Install:

    brew install --cask TidyBearLabs/tap/cctimer

I’d love feedback from Claude Code users: is the menu bar timer enough, or would alerts before reset / limit thresholds be useful too?
