While it's true that Canada's tech industry builds world-class software, we've always shipped it on American infrastructure. Or sold it to them the next morning.
Most of the time, nobody thinks about it. Until your client in healthcare or government asks where their data sleeps at night. The CLOUD Act means "Canadian data residency" is a legal fiction.
The reality is that there's simply no other option.
We looked for a Canadian deployment platform with a modern developer experience. Git push deploys, managed databases, automatic TLS, preview URLs. The stuff Vercel and Railway made standard.
It didn't exist. So we built it.
Canner is a deployment platform that runs entirely on Quebec-based infrastructure. Connect your GitHub repo, push to main, and your app is live at yourproject.app.canner.ca in about 30 seconds. Managed Postgres is one click away. Environment variables are encrypted at rest. Billing is in Canadian dollars.
The things we don't do are just as important: we don't route your traffic through US edge nodes. We don't store your secrets in a jurisdiction where a foreign warrant can reach them.
We're a small team in Montreal building the infrastructure layer that Canadian software companies deserve. It's early, the edges are rough in places, and we're shipping improvements every week. Deploy is live. Compute is live. Columnar data for OLAP is live.
