Here's the core of what we're doing: we don't provide generic templates that you then have to fine-tune with a lawyer. Instead, we generate a document tailored precisely to your specific business, and we do it quickly, taking state laws into account, so you don't have to deal with the legal details yourself. In about 90 seconds, you have a document that's entirely yours - free, fully editable, in whatever format you need.

On the drafting side specifically, a few things we cared about getting right:

Contractor agreements with IP ownership are the ones I redo most often, so having state law applied at draft time rather than patched in afterwards is the useful part for me. The edge case I would hit on day one: a good chunk of the people I contract are outside the US. If I tell BizDraft the contractor is in Portugal, does it flag that as out of scope, or does it still hand me a US-state agreement with the governing law and IP assignment clauses quietly pointing at the wrong jurisdiction?
the "catch risks before signing" part is what I'd actually use this for, reading dense contracts is where I want AI help way more than the drafting side. does "risk" here cover clauses that are legal but just disadvantageous to you, like auto-renewal terms or broad indemnification, or is it scoped more narrowly to stuff that's outright unenforceable?
Tried this out today and was genuinely impressed. The drafting is strong, but the contract explanation feature really stood out. It breaks down dense legal language into something that's actually easy to understand, which is a huge benefit on its own. Looking forward to seeing how this product evolves.
As someone who runs their own business as a freelanser, I constantly deal with various contracts and agreements. I tried creating a contract in BizDraft, and after a few edits, I got a finished document ready to use.
What I liked most was the 'Explain' feature - since I don't have time to figure out all the laws myself, it saved me a lot of time.
As for improvement ideas - it would be nice to have the ability to send the contract directly by email. But overall the fact that it's free and I still own the doc outright (no weird licensing, can edit forever) is the main reason I'd recommend this to other freelancers
