Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Dheeraj, and Bento is the first paid app I've released. Everything I built before was open source, so this is new for me and any feedback means a lot.
My desktop had 331 things on it, mostly screenshots. I didn't want another filing system to maintain. I just wanted the mess gone, and to find things again.
Bento shows you a plan first, then files everything into normal Finder folders that appear as boxes on your desktop. Nothing is deleted, and Undo puts files back where they were. If you want, new files sort themselves as they land, following folder patterns you already use, like month folders for screenshots.
It also reads the text in your screenshots, right on your Mac, so you can search for "invoice" and find the one you need.
