Bento
Tidy your Mac desktop in one click, and keep it that way
Bento files everything on your desktop into real folders, shown as neat boxes. You see the plan first, nothing is deleted, and Undo feature puts files back. New screenshots sort themselves. Search screenshots by their text, fast. $5 once until Nov 6, then $12. macOS 14+.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Dheeraj, and Bento is the first paid app I've released. Everything I built before was open source, so this is new for me and any feedback means a lot.
My desktop had 331 things on it, mostly screenshots. I didn't want another filing system to maintain. I just wanted the mess gone, and to find things again.
Bento shows you a plan first, then files everything into normal Finder folders that appear as boxes on your desktop. Nothing is deleted, and Undo puts files back where they were. If you want, new files sort themselves as they land, following folder patterns you already use, like month folders for screenshots.
It also reads the text in your screenshots, right on your Mac, so you can search for "invoice" and find the one you need.
Launch week: $5 once, until November 6. Buy this week and every future version of Bento is yours, including major upgrades. No subscription, and a 14-day refund if it's not for you. Signed and notarized by Apple, macOS 14+.
What would you want control over before an app organizes your desktop?

Who hunted Bento?
Bento was hunted by Dheeraj Joshi. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
