My team and I are super thrilled to launch Webstudio Beta https://apps.webstudio.is, the open-source visual development tool that will enable designers to create sites they love with the features that they deserve.🙌✨ We have been building this solution since mid-2022, and with this launch, we are finally ready to unveil it and get the community’s feedback! 🧮 The Webstudio Experience With Webstudio, you can directly interact with HTML & CSS to build more creative and capable websites. Whether it is for a simple landing page or an entire web app, we want Webstudio to be your canvas. Our core vision is to give limitless powers to web designers and visual developers, and we are building forward with that mindset. We only monetize high-traffic sites and the advanced capabilities that are primarily used for client work.

And that’s not all! Here are some other upgrades that we are working on and will be making public this year:

🎯 Real-time Collaboration: With this upgrade, multiple designers and visual developers will be able to collaborate in real-time on Webstudio at no extra charge, just like in Figma! 💻 Backend Versatility- no more limits to what CMSs and databases you can use. You will use CMSs like WordPress, Sanity, Airtable, or Notion as if they were built in, even though they are separate UIs! 🔗 Native Extensibility- You get to add features as if they were built into the platform through React components and plugins. And last but not least – it’s all open-source. 💚 🧮 What’s coming next The Beta Version is only the beginning - the static site builder that is not so static technically.
