Vehicare
A car maintenance log that reads your mechanic's invoices
Maintenance logs die because nobody types in every oil change. Vehicare skips the typing: share the invoice your mechanic hands you, a PDF, photo or scan, and it reads the jobs, parts, costs, odometer and date into a visit you check and save. From what was actually done and how much you drive, it works out what's due next. A real Mac app, plus iPhone and iPad. Read on your device, kept in your iCloud, no account. Free for your first vehicle; one $19.99 payment unlocks the rest. No subscription.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Pascal, the developer of Vehicare.
There's a folder in my glovebox with every invoice my garage has ever handed me. It holds my car's whole service history, and it's almost useless. Finding out when the brake fluid was last changed means unfolding paper in the driveway.
I tried the maintenance log apps. They all want you to type in what was done, what it cost and what the odometer said, after every visit. I did it twice, then stopped. And the typing was never needed: someone at the garage already typed all of it, on the invoice.
So in Vehicare, the invoice is the entry. Share the PDF or a photo of the paper copy, and it reads the jobs, parts, costs, odometer and date into a visit you check and save. From that history and how much you drive, it works out what's due next.
It's free for your first vehicle. A one-time purchase unlocks the rest, with no subscription, on iPhone, iPad and a real Mac app.
If you have an invoice handy, try it and tell me how it reads. A misread invoice is the most useful feedback I can get.
