Somehow was built because I needed a place to post product updates after launch. I realized that no matter what I released in the future, I would face this problem. Creating and maintaining my own changelog system in the past was a lot of work with very little payoff. And now that I’ve dramatically reduced my Twitter usage, I miss a lot of important updates from products I want to hear about.
Somehow is designed to be a real-time product newspaper made up of products which are already post-launch, with established products able to bring their own changelogs in. Members can sign up to create their own profile to follow specific products that they like and use. A major motivation of mine was to complement Product Hunt and provide a place for makers to commune in what could be some of the darkest periods of their product journey.
