Sensecast
Most weather apps tell you what. This one tells you why.
Sensecast turns raw meteorology into something you can act on: an atmospheric science academy built into every metric, live tornado, earthquake, wildfire, and grid intelligence, verifiable storm reports, and 18 forecast sources you can compare side by side. Android: Now on the Play Store! iOS: Coming Soon! macOS: Coming Soon! Windows: Coming Soon! Linux: Coming Soon!
Hey everyone, I'm Daniel — I built Sensecast because I was tired of weather apps treating the forecast like a single magic number with no source, no explanation, and no connection to the hazards that actually reach your house.
Everything in the app is live public data (NOAA, USGS, NASA, DOE), so there's no account and nothing to sell. The Weather Academy is my favorite part: every metric has an info button that teaches you the science in three layers — sensation analogy, safety scale, then the actual equations if you want them.
Pro is $2.99/mo or $99.99 lifetime, but radar, hazard trackers, alerts, and the Academy are free forever. Would love your toughest feedback — especially from anyone who's caught their app disagreeing with the sky outside.

Who hunted Sensecast?
Sensecast was hunted by Daniel Hipskind. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
