ResearchTube

Explore YouTube, websites, and media with ChatGPT

Give ChatGPT eyes and hands: explore YouTube, websites, comments and local media. Free, open-source AI research and automation toolkit. - ilinic/ResearchTube

Top comment

Hi everyone! 👋 I wanted ChatGPT to do more than summarize YouTube transcripts: actually examine video frames, investigate comments, interact with websites, and work with local media files. ResearchTube combines a Chrome extension running an MCP server with a local Python Agent powered by FFmpeg and yt-dlp. The project is completely free, open source, and MIT-licensed. There is no hosted backend or ResearchTube subscription. Current limitations: installation is manual, and connecting it to ChatGPT requires a compatible paid subscription and OpenAI Secure MCP Tunnel access. GitHub: https://github.com/ilinic/Resear...
