Hi Product Hunt, I'm Drew, the maker of MeterEase. My day job is estate planning law in Las Vegas, and a lot of my clients own rental properties. Many of them have a building on one water meter (sometimes gas or electric too) and bill tenants back for it. Every month I heard the same thing: they split the bill by hand in a spreadsheet, double-check the math and hope nobody pushes back. The software they found meant paying for a whole property-management suite just to do that one job. So I built a tool that does only that. How it works: - Upload the master water, sewer, trash, gas or electric bill (PDF, or type it in). MeterEase reads the vendor, period and total, and you confirm them. - Pick a split: square footage, occupants, bedrooms, percent or a blend. - Review every unit's share. Nothing goes out until you approve it, unless you turn on auto-send for a property. - Each tenant gets an email with their share, a "How your share was calculated" line and the source bill attached. What it doesn't do: it never touches tenant money. Tenants pay you the way they already pay rent, and you can export a CSV for your rent app or QuickBooks. It's a math-and-send helper, not legal advice. You pick the method and own the lease terms. Pricing: Starter $14/mo, Growth $34/mo, Portfolio $69/mo for up to 50 units (+$1.50/unit over 50). Tenant emails are included. Every plan starts with a 7-day Growth trial (card required). If you just want to see the math, the RUBS calculator on the site is free with no account. (The screenshots use fictional sample data.) I'd really value feedback, especially from anyone who owns or manages rentals: 1. Does the tenant email (gallery image 2) explain the charge clearly enough that a tenant wouldn't need to call you? 2. Which split method do you use, and is anything missing? 3. What would stop you from switching off your spreadsheet? I'll be here all day answering questions.
