HireYard
Equipment rental software that runs the whole yard
HireYard runs the whole rental operation on one screen: public booking widget with double-booking prevention, QR scan in/out on mobile, GPS asset tracking, pooled and quantity assets, maintenance scheduling by hours or service intervals, PDF hire agreements, quotes, invoices and Stripe payments, multi-location and multi-user access, revenue reporting with CSV and PDF export, and Zapier. Built for plant, tool and event & leisure rental operators. 21-day free trial, no card required.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Tom. I built HireYard solo, from a small town in Western Australia.
My background isn't software — I came out of the trades and the event industry. Every time I hired gear in, I was surprised by how many yards were still running off paper. Double-bookings were routine. The software that does exist is mostly built elsewhere, and the operators I spoke to had either been burned by it or found it too complex to actually use day to day.
So HireYard is bookings with double-booking prevention, QR scan in/out on mobile, GPS asset tracking, pooled and quantity assets, maintenance scheduling, PDF hire agreements, quotes, invoices and Stripe payments — all on one screen. There's also Yard Assist, an AI copilot for the yard, and an AI whiteboard import that turns a photo of your board into live bookings.
It's live in Australia and New Zealand, 21-day free trial, no card required.
What I'd genuinely like feedback on: if you run a yard, or you've built for an industry that's still mostly analogue — where did the software you tried actually break down? I've got a list of assumptions I made that I'm not sure about, and I'd rather find out now.
