I realized that to break a mindless habit, I needed **active cognitive friction**—something to wake up my logical brain and force me to think.
That’s why I built **FocusGate**.
Instead of showing a blank screen, it challenges you to solve a quick math equation to unlock a blocked site. This 10-second mental task interrupts the automatic impulse to scroll and gives you a moment of conscious choice.
