I've had a business for a long time and a couple of months ago I had to find an invoice for a insurance claim from a decade ago. Even though I have everything neatly sorted into years, it took me way too long, going through each file by hand to see if that supplier was the one who sold me what I was looking for. But what finally got me looking for a solution was finding out my accountant was spending way too much time (and therefore my money) finding the right invoice for a transaction. Enough was enough, two use cases for the same solution. So I built the badger. At first just a small script on my laptop that I then showed someone. And so I had my first "user". Bit by bit more people uploaded their Dropbox folder of saved invoices and turned a dump into a neatly organized folder with a spreadsheet. And then I decided to turn it into a product. Not competing with the big players in the accounting space that have these extraction features built-in anyway, but this is a simpler solution for everyone. Doesn't matter if you're preparing for tax season or just want to digitize and organize that box of folders. Single files are free to test the service and the batch processing starts at 10 USD for a single run up to 100 documents and 10c for any additional. Looking forward to hearing what else the badger might be able to do for you!
