Nobody reads the manual, but everyone complains when they can't find the answer. Rate My HelpDocs takes your help content, rates it, and makes suggestions to improve it.
👋 Hey makers,
Cristina here. It’s nice to be back with a fun side quest I got to work on at CommandBar.
The problem
Help docs are the bane of my existence. Maintaining them is like painting the Golden Gate Bridge; the moment you finish, it's time to start all over again because they’re already outdated (if you ship as fast as we do, lol). Just like the bridge needs continuous care to remain pristine, help docs either demand constant updates or new ones pop-up (for new features), making sure the task is never truly done.
Our solution
A sleek help doc rater that takes your docs as input, lets you know how much you’ve scored, and gives you suggestions for how to improve them.
Who it’s for
Anyone who doesn't want their users pulling their hair out trying to figure out how to do something on their prouduct.
Specifically, we see this working great for founders, PMs, and PMMs of SaaS products.
Our ask
Try it out and help us make it better. How were the suggestions? Were you expecting your score? Would also love to hear about your experience writing and maintaining help docs.
Huge shoutout to the products that helped us build this so quickly!
- Supabase (Alpha) for backend and storage
- NextJS for the frontend
- Figma and Canva for design and launch assets
- Linear for planning

RateMyHelpDocs was hunted by Cristina Bunea. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
