My friend went through extreme depression and didn't speak to us for 10 months. Lack of communication made it hard to know what they need. Countless texts and calls went out, but we never got a response. Months later she finally reached out saying "I wanted to tell you guys what's going on but I didn't have it in me to have a conversation. I just wanted to light my bat signal that I am struggling and have you guys know without needing to explain until I am ready". That's when it hit me.
