ZoraSafe started with a problem that became impossible for me to ignore: the people most targeted by scams are often expected to defend themselves with tools that are too technical, too fragmented, or designed only after the damage is done. For me, this became personal when my mom began receiving highly convincing scams that used real details about her life. I had spent more than 20 years working across cybersecurity and technology, but even I could see how difficult it was for an everyday person to know what was real, what was dangerous, and what to do next. We built ZoraSafe to make protection feel clear and usable. People can check suspicious texts, calls, links, QR codes, and images, then get plain-language guidance instead of another alarming warning with no explanation. We also wanted families to have a better way to protect the people they love without taking away their independence. Our approach evolved significantly while building the product. We started by thinking primarily about detection. Over time, we realized detection alone was not enough. People also need context, coaching, reassurance, and a simple next step. That changed ZoraSafe from a collection of security tools into a more complete scam-prevention and education platform. We are still early, and we are learning from every person who uses it.
