I’m Gabor, a solo developer. AI tools kept giving me Markdown files I wanted to clean up properly: READMEs, specs, changelogs, and instruction files. Existing editors made me choose between a pleasant rendered document and direct control of the Markdown source.
I built Zizeg so that choice disappears. Preview and Source are both editable, separately or side by side, and always stay in sync. You can format in Preview like a normal document, inspect or edit the raw Markdown whenever you want, and keep working with the same plain .md file on disk.
A few details that mattered to me:
- No vault, proprietary document format, account, or import step.
- Finder rename detection that offers to repair image references.
- Remote images blocked until approved and unsafe HTML visibly flagged.
- HTML and PDF exports based on the same rendering you see on screen.
