Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Andrew, founder of ZipSage. I've moved a lot. Across states, chasing better opportunities, lower costs, a better quality of life for my family. And every single time, I went through the same exhausting process: pulling up a cost of living calculator here, a crime map there, a tax comparison somewhere else, a walkability tool on another site, a school rating on yet another. Hours of research. Dozens of browser tabs. And at the end of it, I still didn't have a clear answer because none of those tools talked to each other. None of them knew my income. None of them told me what my life would actually look like in that city. That's the problem ZipSage solves. Most relocation tools show you generic data. They'll tell you the average rent in Nashville, but they won't tell you what Nashville actually costs someone earning $85,000 moving from California. They won't tell you how much more take-home pay you'd have after accounting for Tennessee's zero state income tax versus California's 13.3%. They won't tell you whether you can actually afford to buy there, or how long it would take to pay off a mortgage if you put an extra $500 a month toward it. That's the gap we built ZipSage to fill. We start with your income, your job field, your family situation, and what matters most to you. Then we score 30,000 plus US cities against your exact profile. Not averages. Not estimates. Your numbers. But as I built the financial side, I kept coming back to something: people don't move for money alone. They move because they want to feel safe walking to a coffee shop. They move because they want their kids in good schools. They move because they want to live somewhere that reflects their values. So we built all of that in too. We pull FBI crime data for 8,700 plus cities so you can see violent and property crime rates in context, not just a number but what it means relative to the national average. We include HRC Municipal Equality Index scores so LGBTQ+ individuals and families can see how welcoming a city actually is before they uproot their lives. We show walkability, transit scores, sunny days per year, average temperatures and humidity because quality of life is about more than rent. We link directly to GreatSchools data for every city so parents can evaluate schools without leaving the comparison. We track VA facility density by state for veterans evaluating their options. Then I started hearing from another group entirely. H1B professionals moving to the US from abroad, trying to figure out what their offer letter actually meant in terms of purchasing power. $120,000 in San Francisco sounds very different from $120,000 in San Antonio. And it sounds completely different compared to what they were earning back home in India, Brazil, or Germany. So we built the international tool — purchasing power parity conversion across 180 plus countries, H1B employer density by city, and immigration law firm rankings by state. It's the only free tool I know of that connects all three of those things in one place. No other free platform connects all of this. There are cost of living calculators. There are crime maps. There are tax comparison tools. There are school rating sites. There are expat forums. But nobody has pulled it all into a single, personalized, free experience until now. ZipSage is for the person who is serious about making the right move. Not just the cheapest move. The right one, for their income, their family, their values, and their future. Try it free. No credit card. No subscription. Five minutes. Your results, your city, your life.
