Most crypto wallets treat privacy as something you dig for in settings, if it exists at all. Zapp makes every payment private by default, no toggle required. Send money and chat with the same person in one thread, instead of switching apps to pay someone. You hold your own keys, no company ever custodies your funds or requires ID to get started. Built on Zcash, one of the most battle-tested privacy technologies in crypto, made simple enough for anyone to actually use.
I built Zapp because crypto is honestly the easiest way to pay back a friend overseas, no bank delays, no conversion headaches. But every time I paid, that transaction just sat there on a public ledger, visible to anyone who looked. That never sat right with me. Nobody wants some stranger who knows their wallet address, able to see how much they send and to who.
Privacy in crypto is usually treated as an advanced feature, something for the technical crowd who know to go looking for it. I wanted to flip that: what if it just worked that way by default, for everyone, without needing to understand how it works under the hood?
So the problem I set out to solve wasn't really a crypto problem, it was a normal-life problem: pay a friend back the same way you'd text them, without a public record of it, and without either of you needing to be a crypto expert.
The approach evolved along the way. I started out building just a send/receive wallet, but kept noticing that payments almost always happen inside a conversation anyway, "hey can you send me for dinner", so instead of making people jump to a separate screen, I built the payment straight into the chat itself.
Would love your feedback, especially from anyone who's never used a privacy-focused wallet before. If something feels confusing or too "crypto," tell me. That's exactly what I want to fix.

Zapp was hunted by Vampirot. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
