What inspired this?
I kept asking myself: What would Laozi build if he had an LLM? Most wellness apps treat the mind like a problem to fix. Taoism treats it like a system to understand. I wanted to build something that doesn't tell you what to do, but helps you see your own boundaries—the invisible limits shaping your desires and freedom.
What problem am I solving?
Modern anxiety often comes from living someone else's life—chasing desires implanted by society, algorithms, and expectations. Yuandao offers a daily ritual: one honest wish, one poetic AI reflection. Over time, patterns emerge. You begin to see what's yours and what's not. No judgment. No advice. Just clarity.
How did the process evolve?
The first prototype was just a text box and a prompt. But as early users shared their wishes, I realized they needed more than reflection—they needed progressive practices. That's when the breathwork modules came in: counting breath, Six Healing Sounds, Embryonic Breathing. The app grew from a mirror into a complete cultivation path—from beginner stillness to advanced Taoist inner alchemy.
