I'm a solo dev, and YourCVSucks is my first real product.
What inspired it: I watched friends — and myself — send out application after application and hear nothing back. No feedback, no reason, just silence. Everyone gives the same useless advice ("use more keywords," "tailor your resume"), but nobody tells you what's actually wrong with yours. That gap drove me crazy. People were getting filtered out and never finding out why.
The problem I wanted to solve: make resume feedback brutally specific and instantly useful. Not "improve your bullet points" — but "this exact line is weak, here's why, and here's the rewrite." So I built Vera, an AI that scores your CV out of 100, tells you exactly why recruiters skip you, and rewrites the weak parts into measurable wins. It also handles ATS optimization, job-description matching, and interview prep.
How it evolved: Honestly, I'm a beginner — a few weeks ago I couldn't even build a landing page. The hardest part wasn't the AI; it was making the output reliable and genuinely useful instead of generic. I rebuilt the prompts dozens of times to get feedback that was sharp without being cruel, and rewrites that don't fabricate fake metrics. I shipped it, broke it, fixed it, and learned a ton.
