In 2024 I tried to make my girlfriend a comic for her birthday with her in it. It took weeks, because the generators of the day kept losing her face, by page three she was a generic anime character with roughly her haircut.
That's the actual problem here, and it's still the most common complaint about products in this space: the likeness holds for two panels and then quietly becomes someone else.
So YouComics is built around that one thing - the characters stay the same person from page one to page forty. You can build your own story by hand, or choose from a variety of stories I wrote by hand (birthdays, Christmas, Mother's/Father's Day, anniversaries, graduations), and every one of them works with two people as well- the second person isn't a spare slot, they get a written role. All the stories carry specific emotional themes which makes the stories thoughtful rather than just slop.
You can read the first pages before paying anything, which is the only honest way to sell something this personal - if it doesn't look like them, you've lost ten minutes and no money. Books print as A4, softcover or hardcover, from $24.99.
