Xylingo is an English learning app built on one idea: language isn't a set of rules, it's a feeling. Instead of memorizing vocab lists and grammar drills, you click any unfamiliar word while reading or watching something online, get it explained in context, and it's automatically added to your personal vocabulary. From there, Xylingo brings those words back to you through a personalized feed and AI chat conversations, so you actually use them instead of just recognizing them.

Hey hunters 👋 I'm one of the makers of Xylingo. We built this because we were stuck on the same plateau as a lot of language learners — we knew the grammar rules, but couldn't actually think in English. Our theory: language isn't learned, it's felt. Babies don't read grammar books before they start talking — they learn through emotional context. So instead of flashcards and drills, Xylingo lets you click any word you don't know while you're reading or watching something, explains it in context, and then brings it back to you in a personalized feed and AI chat so you actually use it. Would love your feedback — especially on the context-learning approach and the chat practice. We're also working on expanding beyond English to more languages soon, so let us know which one you'd want to see first. What's been your biggest blocker learning a language?

Who hunted Xylingo?

Xylingo was hunted by Xylingo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
