What if technology could help us understand ourselves better by helping us discover what we may not have observed before?
That question led me to build Xurvir (“Shoorvir” - warrior in Sanskrit).
I wanted to make mental wellness more accessible - not just in terms of cost and ease of use, but also in how people experience it. I often wondered how do we spark curiosity about ourselves.
We are often so good at taking care of others, yet somehow, we forget to give ourselves the same attention. What would make us pause for just a few minutes, turn inward, discover something new about ourselves, and reflect on how we could grow into the person we aspire to be?
Our ability to understand our stressors, navigate pressure, recognize our strengths, and identify areas for improvement plays an important role in how we pursue our goals. We may already know many of these things intuitively. But making sense of them, connecting the dots, and seeing the bigger picture can be difficult.
I wanted to change that. To replace the feeling of being assessed with the curiosity of self-discovery. To create something people would genuinely want to try, not because they had to, but because they wanted to understand themselves better.
That vision became Xurvir: a 7-minute, 360° mental wellness discovery experience that brings together personal reflections, biometric signals, and short cognitive activities to create a multidimensional picture of an individual. It uses technology to bring different signals together into a personal reflection, one that invites understanding, not judgment; awareness, not labels.
I also see the potential to bring this experience to organizations and institutions, making first-line screening more accessible at scale. With real-time dashboards, they can gain a broader view of well-being needs and make more informed decisions about how to support their communities.
My bigger ambition is to change the conversation around mental health. We use technology to understand our bodies, improve our performance, and make better decisions every day. Why shouldn't we use it to understand ourselves? To me, the most meaningful use of technology is not just to change the world around us, but to help us better understand the world within us.
