Xtra Hands is a family chore and allowance app that takes the management out of managing chores. Create recurring chores, automatically rotate who's responsible, carry unfinished chores forward, send reminders, and reward completed work with money or stars. Use it together on a shared tablet or from individual devices. The first chore-doing member is free, with every feature included.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Xtra Hands started because I was tired of reminding my three kids about chores. I didn't originally set out to build an app company. I built a small chore system for my own family and ran it from my home NAS. The problem I was trying to solve wasn't really making a chore list. We already knew what needed to be done. The problem was everything that came after it. Whose turn is it to mow the lawn? Did the laundry get done yesterday? If a chore gets missed, does it disappear or still need doing? How much allowance has someone earned? And why am I still the one who has to remember all of this? My family actually started using what I'd built, and eventually that little home project became Xtra Hands. Xtra Hands handles recurring chores, automatic rotations, carry-over chores, reminders, approvals, allowance, stars, and rewards. Families can use individual devices or keep things simple with a shared household tablet. One thing that was important to me was making Xtra Hands a household app, not just a kids app. Parents, kids, teens, and co-parents can all be part of the same system. I also didn't want another family app that required connecting a bank account or turning chores into a financial product. Xtra Hands can track allowance and rewards without moving or holding your family's money. The first chore-doing member is completely free with every feature included. You only pay when you add more members. Xtra Hands is available today on iOS, Android, and the web. I'd especially love feedback from other parents: what part of managing chores still requires you to be the human reminder system in your house?
